Aside from an admittedly significant refresh in 2011, the guts underpinning the midsize Ford Edge crossover (shown above as a 2012 model) haven't received much attention since it was introduced seven years ago. That is all about to change as Ford plans to roll out a new concept vehicle at the LA Auto Show that will preview the next-gen Edge, which we may have actually gotten our first look at back in February.
We've heard from numerous sources this week that a concept will be unveiled in LA previewing the 2015 Edge, and like many current Ford products (like Fusion, Focus and Fiesta), it will be sold in a number of global markets including Europe. This news isn't entirely a surprise, though, as Ford announced in September that it was investing in the Oakville, Canada assembly plant – where the Edge is produced – in order to make it a "global manufacturing plant."
