Greetings,
Well, since I was a kid, I dream of moving to another country, meet a different culture, and so on.
I am creating this topic so we can exchange these kind of ambitions, experience, and even get in touch with each other for future interests, if possible.
I am a brazilian newbie engineer, 22 years old and about 3 years experience in network/security - planning to move to New Zealand / Ireland in a few years.

If you really want to do this, do it now. I wanted to do some traveling, but I'm locked down to this area now due to my current relationship and ailing family members. Having Irish heritage, as well as distant cousins in New Zealand, I was very interested in living in both countries. The one thing I have come to realize, however, is that the grass is always greener on the other side. You could love it and never look back, or you might realize that you love where you come from. Either way, it will likely be a great experience to look back on later in life.Quote jibbajabba Google Ninja Join Date Jun 2008 Location Ninja Cave Posts 3,017

I left Germany in 2001, worked first as Electronics engineer in public transport, got oursourced so had to work as lorry and coach driver .. moved to Ireland to get a foot into IT (worked for Intel / IBM / HP / Symantec / Xerox) , then left Ireland to work in Gibraltar (worked for largest online casino), now live in the UK and worked for some of the largest finance companies in world ...
So from starting as support monkey explaining people how to clean inktanks to work as senior IT monkey, including architecture roles and manager roles = 12 years (learned some English on the way too I think )...

The only thing that still makes me stay here is the need to get some more experience. Meanwhile, I am building a stronger background so I won't get a crappy job when I move on...Aiming for an Engineer position

You will always be needing to get more experience, that never ever stops. I say move now and carry on building experience when you get there.

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties. It means that its going to launch you into something great. So just focus and keep aiming.

That's what I did - never underestimate the small opportunities - they can grow big in no time

Waiting too long could become a problem. Set a time frame and move. Good luck.
